1. What is a solar-powered IP CCTV camera?

A solar-powered IP CCTV camera is a security camera that runs on energy from a solar panel and a rechargeable battery instead of a mains power supply. Starka’s system combines a 3-megapixel IR bullet IP camera, a 40Wp BIS-approved solar panel and a 12.8V 12Ah (154Wh) LiFePO4 battery with a built-in smart solar charge controller. It connects through a 4G SIM card, so you can watch live video on your mobile from anywhere, 24 hours a day, even at sites where there is no electricity or internet cable.

During the day, the solar panel converts sunlight into electricity and charges the LiFePO4 battery through the inbuilt smart charge controller. At night, the camera runs on the energy stored in the battery, and its IR night-vision allows it to record and stream clear video in darkness. This day-and-night cycle repeats automatically, so the camera keeps monitoring your site around the clock without depending on grid electricity.

Yes. The Starka solar CCTV camera works without a mains electricity connection because it is powered by its own solar panel and battery. It also does not need Wi-Fi, because it uses a 4G SIM card for wireless connectivity, sending live video and alerts directly to the mobile app. You only need to keep the SIM recharged with a data plan and make sure the location has mobile network coverage, which makes it practical for farms, highways and remote sites.

The camera is a 3MP IR bullet camera with intelligent humanoid detection, small-area movement detection and real-time push notifications to your phone. A PIR motion sensor helps detect movement, and IR night vision provides day and night monitoring. You can watch live footage and recordings remotely through a mobile app, store video on a memory card and receive alerts instantly, all from a camera that runs on solar power in an IP65 weatherproof housing.

The Starka solar CCTV camera is ideal for remote areas, farms and farm houses, solar power plants, highways and roads, and agricultural land. It is also used at construction sites, open plots and perimeter properties, and schools, colleges and institutions that need surveillance in places without a power line. Because it needs no wiring, it can be installed quickly at temporary or hard-to-reach locations and moved when needed.

Open the kit and check the camera, battery and battery box, solar panel, pole, nut-bolts, panel and camera structures and tape, and choose a location with clear sunlight. Mount the solar panel on its structure facing south, mount the camera on its stand, tighten all nut-bolts, and insert the 4G SIM card and memory card in the slots on the back of the camera. Download the camera app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, connect the camera wires to the battery and solar panel, switch the camera ON, scan the QR code to add it to the app and confirm that live video is visible.

The kit includes the solar camera, solar panel, LiFePO4 battery with battery box, panel stand, camera stand, clamps, nut-bolts, tape and all accessories needed for installation. A 6-metre GI pole (76 mm OD, approx. 14 kg) can also be supplied as per your requirement. You only need to add a 4G SIM card with an active data plan and a memory card for local recording.

Only basic periodic maintenance is needed to keep the system working well. Clean the solar panel about once a quarter so dust does not reduce charging, keep the SIM card’s data plan recharged so live viewing and alerts continue, and regularly check the video quality in the mobile app. It is also good practice to check that the panel is not shaded and that the mounting bolts and cables are secure, especially after storms.

This makes the system reliable for year-round outdoor use at farms, highways, construction sites and other exposed locations.

The Starka solar-powered IP CCTV camera comes with a warranty of up to 2 years. During the warranty period, if a product is repairable it is repaired, and if it cannot be repaired it is replaced. After the warranty, Starka continues to support the product without charging a service fee; you only pay for the components that are replaced, and AMC service can be arranged for on-site support.
